Lindsay Bridgeman, BSc, Physiotherapist
Lindsay is the owner of Cayman Physiotherapy Ltd. and qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in 1986 from The Queen’s College, Glasgow, Scotland. She then ventured south to work as a rotational physiotherapist at Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral, England. Lindsay’s love of travel then took her abroad to Canada where she worked as a physiotherapist at Toronto General Hospital.
Lindsay arrived in the Cayman Islands in 1990 continuing to work as a physiotherapist and in 1993 set up Cayman Physiotherapy Ltd. initially as a single therapist practice. The clinic has evolved into a busy facility with a team of six physiotherapists, a massage therapist and a Pilate’s instructor on staff.
Lindsay splits her time between managing the clinic and treating patients. Her special interests include post-op orthopaedic rehabilitation, back and neck problems and hand therapy. She is trained in a wide range of manual therapy techniques, specialised exercise therapy, sports medicine as well as using acupuncture as an adjunct to physiotherapy. Keeping up to date with current trends in physiotherapy is very important to Lindsay so each year she organises at least one specialised course at Cayman Physiotherapy Ltd. when she brings in an expert from overseas as the tutor. Every year she also attends Dr. Badia’s hand conference for hand surgeons and hand therapists in Miami.
Having spent the past 21 years in the Cayman Islands, Lindsay is happy to call the Cayman Islands home and is very settled here with her husband David and two teenage children. In her spare time she is an active member of the squash and tennis clubs and when not providing a taxi service for her children’s sporting activities she enjoys an occasional game of golf!
